Casa Tranquillo - sleeps 4
one double one twin
Casa Tranquillo is situated on the
south facing side of Montefegatesi. The small detached traditional
cottage has recently been sympathetically restored with terracotta
tiles throughout, original chestnut beams, steep stairs and a wood-burning
stove in the stone fireplace. Visitors enter into an open plan living
room and kitchen. The bathroom is situated downstairs. Upstairs
are one double bedroom and one twin bedroom (walk through the twin
to the double) - and all rooms have stunning views.
Outside is a stone patio looking out onto spectacular views over
the surrounding hilltop villages, valley and the Apuan Alps. Keep
a lookout for the pair of buzzards who fly on the thermals! There
is also a barn where the logs are stored and a good size garden.
The house is situated 7 minutes walk from the centre of the village
and 10 minutes walk to the car park where you must leave your vehicle.
The village has a shop (selling fresh fruit/veg/meats/cheeses etc.),
2 café/bars one of which sells home-made pizzas, butcher
(twice a week) and post office - enabling you to be totally self
sufficient in the village should you want to be. There are fortnightly
dances held in the village square all summer, which are well worth
joining in.
A holiday at Casa Tranquillo suggests two things - complete rest
and relaxation in the most beautiful surroundings and sightseeing
both nearby and further afield.
Price £230 per week
